The S-5-Q clamp (“Q” represents the shape of the clamp) allows for the attachment of snow guards and other heavy-duty applications to metal roof panels featuring large, round (such as Zip-Rib®, BEMO, Kalzip®) and similar “bulb” seam configurations. The clamp features a two-piece design that makes it easy to install anywhere along the seam.
The Q will also fit smaller, “bulb-shaped” profiles (dia ≤ 0.75”; 19 mm) if the seam is not properly closed. (Also, check out the more cost-effective S-5-Z for these applications when seams are properly closed).
The Q Mini clamp is a more economical solution for lighter-duty attachments where Herculean holding strength is not required.
The S-5-Z is a better buy for seam diameters of 0.75” (19 mm) or smaller when seamed correctly. Choose the S-5-Q when the diameter of the finished seam is larger.
All standard and Mini clamps undergo rigorous load testing. Negative load normal-to-seam testing (pull-up) is performed on all Mini clamps, and parallel-to-seam testing (drag load) is performed on all standard clamps.
